As our Contracts Specialist, there is no typical day. You will be tasked with performing a wide variety of  duties and responsibilities in an efficient, timely and accurate manner in an environment that is fast paced and ever changing to meet the needs of our business. You must have prior contracts experience and have a simple to moderate understanding of government contracts as well. In your efforts to support the business you will be responsible for tracking, managing, reviewing and analyzing contracts and overseeing contract closeouts. You may also be asked to help support other departments with their request for proposals, processing subcontracts, change orders, reviewing and submitting deliverables, and completing other contracts administration task. You will not be working from behind a desk. You will be in the field getting hands on experience building GSI’s world class geohazard designs! This is hard work. This is gritty work. You will be working and traveling with our Geohazard Mitigation Technicians and at the end of the Coop you will understand how the engineering principles you are learning in the classroom play out in the real world. The purpose of our Coop is to prepare you for a full-time career position with GSI. Therefore, in addition to the hands-on construction experience, you will also work with our Field Engineers assisting them with engineering, testing, and project management duties. On one project you may be working on a slope installing a retaining wall and the next project you could be stabilizing a bridge. This is hard work. This is gritty work.
