What are we looking for?

GeoStabilization International is seeking a high-impact Project Controller to lead our Project Accounting function and serve as a visible, hands-on partner to Operations and Finance leadership. This role will manage a team of project accountants, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our job cost reporting, billing, and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and will be energized by working shoulder to shoulder with project managers and operational leaders to drive accountability, insight, and performance across our active jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Project Accounting, including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Own the monthly WIP reporting process, working cross-functionally with Operations and Finance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead margin forecasting and project cost review processes across all active jobs.
  • Ensure integrity and consistency of job cost data in ERP systems (e.g., Viewpoint Vista).
  • Drive standardization of project closeouts, billing practices, and compliance documentation.
  • Support internal and external audit readiness related to job cost and revenue recognition.
  • Implement scalable process improvements, controls, and reporting enhancements.
  • Partner with Project Managers and field leaders to drive accountability and performance.
  • Serve as a key liaison to leadership for project financial reporting, insights, and risks.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Deep experience with job cost accounting and WIP processes.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and implement change.
  • Systems fluency, especially Excel and ERP systems (preferably Viewpoint Vista).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
  • Familiarity with B2W or other field operations software.
  • Track record of building scalable processes in high-growth environments.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule. Employees will be expected to work in the Westminster, CO office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

 

The expected base pay range for this position in the Denver area is $110,000 - $135,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
