The Role

As a Field Engineer, you will be traveling to job sites  up to 75% of the time, located anywhere East of the Mississippi, contributing towards the success of projects that shape and improve our rail and roadway infrastructure. The work is hard, gritty, task-driven and rewarding. There is no typical day and the scenery changes often as you travel for work. This position presents a unique career path and opportunities to learn, where employees help mold their future.

Responsibilities

  • Review plans, contract, and another other pertinent technical documents
  • Track material and production quantities
  • Assist with project documentation control
  • Develop boilerplate documentation for office and field operations
  • Create, manage and track RFI’s
  • Create, manage and track Submittals
  • Maintain an up to date log on ALL locates/811 calls
  • Assist with load tests and site visits as needed

Other Duties

  • Assist all project managers with any reasonable requests 
  • Uses tablets, phones, computers or other electronic devices for work tasks.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field required.
  • Safety mindset and ability to read, understand and follow policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills; proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, and use hands and fingers to drive, operate machinery, tools, computers, telephones and keyboards.
  • Must be able to bend and twist and occasionally lift at least 50 pounds.
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is loud.
  • Work environment includes exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.

This role will require travel up to 75% of the time across the Eastern US. 

 

The expected annual base salary range for this position in the Denver area is $29.04 - $36.30. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
