What You Will Do

As the Safety Field Technician Intern you will assist with promoting safe work practices by partnering primarily with our Frontline crews at all GeoStabilization work sites. As a Safety Intern working for GSI, there is no typical day. You will not be working from behind a desk. You will be in the field getting hands on experience by promoting a safety culture like no other in the industry! This is hard work. This is gritty work. You will be working and traveling with our Safety Team and at the end of the summer you will understand how the Safety guidelines you are learning in the classroom play out in the real world. The purpose of our internship program is to prepare you for a full-time career position with GSI. Therefore, in addition to the hands-on safety construction experience, you will also work with our Front Line Crews assisting them with best safety practices. This will be a Hybrid and travel postion out of our GeoStabilization Corporate Headquarters, 10225 Westmoor Drive, Suite 205, Westminster, CO 

Responsibilities

How will I make a difference?

  • Helps coordinate with the Training Manager on the training programs to promote safety consciousness including new employee training.
  • Promotes at all times the GSI Safety program.
  • Supports and promotes general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Inspects or tours job sites to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and reports to the Safety Manager and superintendent recommendations on corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries compiling information in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, law suits, and insurance investigations.
  • Helps compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in providing information to H.R. enabling that department administer the drug testing per GSI Guidelines.
  • Work with outside contractors, on job sites, as directed by the Safety Director, in continually assessing our processes addressing safety issues.
  • Maintain a knowledge of company's policies, procedures and culture in forcing and supporting them to all co-workers.

 We also invite active members of the military who are eligible for the SkillBridge Program.

  • Expected graduation of Winter 2025 or Summer 2026. For service members, they should be ending their active service within twelve months of summer 2025. 
  • Currently enrolled in a Safety Management, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety or other similar degree program
  • Must have ability to travel extensively over the course of the internship
  • Maintain knowledge of, comply with, enforce and support company safety policy.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong Computer skills. Must have experience in Microsoft Office and ability to access OSHA information via the Internet.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License with the ability to rent a car.

Salary Range: $20.00 to $28.00 HR
