We're seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic who will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair on GSI’s fleet of equipment that consists of rock drills, skid steers, lifts, concrete pumps, some proprietary equipment, and other types of heavy construction equipment. 

 

Working for GSI, there is no typical day. One day you may be driving 4 hours to a job to do a preventative maintenance on a unit and the next day you may be on a plane for an emergency repair. This is a traveling position and requires a lot of flexibility. Typical work rotation is 10 days on with 4 days off.

Our shop is in Williamstown Kentucky, but we are considering candidates anywhere in the continental US who lives under sixty minutes away from a major airport. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair on GSI’s fleet of equipment that involves rock drills, skid steers, lifts, concrete pumps, some proprietary equipment, and other type of heavy construction equipment.
  • Work on our proprietary RailJet technology.  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's license required
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment
  • The ability to travel up to 100% of the time

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of heavy construction equipment and repair experience
  • Experience working on railway equipment
  • 5+ years of hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting experience
  • CDL Driver's license strongly preferred
  • Licensing/certification as a mechanic

Compensation: $25/hr to $35/hr. In 2023, individuals in this role made the equivalent of $52/hr
