Overview

The General Superintendent serves as a member of the Frontline Management Team and reports to the Frontline Director. The General Superintendent is a Keystone role for driving the success of the organization. The position’s primary responsibility is to ensure safety, quality, delivery, production, costs, and training objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all crew member’s safety.
  • Managing the daily management process and ensuring Superintendent accountability to the +QDIP process.
  • Superintendent accountability to compliance including daily logs, checklists, photo submissions, as-builts, documentation, HR, credit card receipts etc.
  • Superintendent development and Superintendent accountability for the development of their crews.
  • Ensure Superintendents adhere to the PISTOL process, with special focus on pre-construction planning. (Support these planning sessions as needed)
  • Monitoring and ensuring Superintendent project performance, including duration and cost variance.
  • Review and approve Daily logs and credit card receipts on a daily cadence.
  • Manage workforce planning and hiring for all supervised crews.
  • Coaching and mentoring Superintendents and keeping them accountable for doing the same for their crews.
  • Manage crew rotations ensuring Superintendents manage crew travel appropriately.
  • Ensure the right crew fit to the project and its skill needs.
  • Hold Superintendents accountable for equipment maintenance, cleanliness, and related documentation.
  • Ensure quality and testing programs are adhered to on all supervised projects.
  • Manage certifications and trainings ensuring reports stay current and qualified to work on projects.
  • Ensure good teamwork and communication between all functional groups supporting projects.

Job Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction industry preferrable geotechnical construction, to include: job management, and knowledge of building products and services
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Superintendent required
  • Proven ability to accurately interpret the scope, specification (including blueprints) and timeliness of customer plans, while meeting profitability goals established by the company.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality projects within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects and teams.
  • Strong communication skills: ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
  • Decisive decision-making, analytical skills, and proven ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Work schedule flexibility, with or without notice, to accommodate the needs of the business.
  • Must have working knowledge of company provided tech hardware and web-based technology systems.
  • Valid driver’s license required with clean motor vehicle report
  • Possess a Class A CDL preferred
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and use pneumatic, battery powered or electric tools
